Starting Time: 4:45pm
Address

1015 NW 13th St.
Gainesville, Florida 32601
United States
Description
Local students of the Environmental Action Group at the University of Florida, in conjunction with concerned citizens and environmental groups nation-wide will be demonstrating at Office Depot stores nationwide to inform the public and urge Office Depot to stop selling paper products made from endangered forests. Students will also be presenting the store manager with an award for Outstanding Achievement in Endangered Forest Destruction.

As part of the National Paper Campaign (www.thepapercampaign.com) against Office Depot, students are protesting Office Depot's continued sale of paper products made from endangered forests despite pressure from nationalenvironmental organizations to cease this destructive practice. Originally aimed at Staples, Inc., the Paper Campaign succeeded last November when Staples announced an unprecedented company-wide environmental policy calling for the phasing out of products made from endangered forests. The Paper Campaign is urging Office Depot to keep up with the environmentally sound practices of its competitor and stop destroying endangered forests.
