In 1992, the US Supreme Court almost overturned Roe v. Wade! Justice Kennedy initially voted to overturn Roe but changed his vote just as Chief Justice Rehquist was circulating the opinion that would have gutted abortion rights in this country. Roe still hangs by a slim 5-4 majority on the US Supreme Court. The addition of even one more anti-choice Justice could result in either overturning Roe v. Wade or so burdening this right that many women will effectively be forced to the back alleys. At the state level, restriction after restriction is being passed to limit access to family planning and abortion, especially for poor women and young women. The cut-off of international family planning funding and the imposition of the Global Gag Rule are causing needless deaths and suffering for women around the world.

Join us along with the other principal organizers, NARAL Pro-Choice America, National Organization for Women, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Black Women's Health Imperative, National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health, and the American Civil Liberties Union at the most significant and massive abortion rights march in over a decade. We must sound the alarm and rouse the pro-choice majority to action as never before!
