Description
The SPAN National Summit will be held on April 9th - 11th at the University of Chicago in Chicago, IL. This year’s summit works to promote students’ resistance to militarism through education, training and action. The main days, Saturday and Sunday, will be filled with workshops, speakers, panels, film screenings and roundtable discussions. The deadline for travel scholarships is Friday, March 5th. *Resisting the PATRIOT Act and other assaults on civil liberties

*Keynote address from world renowned peace activist, scholar and journalist Colman McCarthy

*Panel on US-Middle East relations,
including the occupation of Iraq and Palestine

*Film screening of Uncovered: The Whole Truth About the Iraq War

*Roundtable discussions on issues such as alliance building, Queer rights and the peace movement, high school organizing, linking peace activism to local community-based struggles, building sustainable activist organizations and more!
