(at Père Marquette State Park, just north of St. Louis.)
The Sierra Student Coalition and The East Central College Ecology Club invites all fun-lovin’, earth-friendly, movin’ & groovin’ high schoolers to join us at the July “Sprog” (summer program) in Pere Marquette State Park, July 19-25.
We’re focusing on Organizing 101, Communication Skills, Campaign Organizing, and Environmental Issues. We spend 7 days living rustically (cabins and bunks usually) learning skills, discussing the issues, eating great veggie and vegan food, and of course having a fine old time with some of the coolest folks on the planet. Whether you’re just getting involved or looking to hone your skills as an organizer, the Sierra Student Coalition’s summer training is for you.
Of course, the program isn’t all work and no play. The week is filled with hikes, energizing (and often goofy) nighttime activities, good veggie and vegan food, and (as we said before) some of the coolest folks on Earth.
All programs are limited to 30 participants – so register online today at www.ssc.org. The cost of the high school program is $165. If you’re not a Sierra Club member, you’ll need to join (either at the training or online - $25.00).
Don’t let money concerns be a reason not to apply. If you’d like to apply for a need based fee waiver, please call Erika Park in SSC World Headquarters, 1-888-JOIN-SSC.
For more information on this event, you can also call Steve Borg at 1-888-JOIN-SSC or Charlie Fredrick by phone (636) 239-9670 or by email at email@example.com
