Description
AL-AWDA's THIRD ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION

The program for Al-Awda's Third Annual International Convention to be held at The University of California in Los Angeles, April 15-17, 2005 is shaping up to be an amazing three-day event from speakers and workshops, youth activities, spoken word performances, to music and dabke. The convention is a vital and unique opportunity to come together with other activists for Palestinian refugee rights at a time when our voices are needed most!

Confirmed and invited speakers include a representative from Ein el-Hilweh refugee camp in Lebanon, representatives from Addameer Prisoner Solidarity Group in Ramallah, and numerous individuals with expertise and experiences in the Palestinian struggle and Right to Return. Come learn, discuss, and share your ideas. Workshops include Refugee Support, Campus Activism, Media, Women in the Struggle, Developing Al-Awda Chapters, Divestment, and Building Coalitions, among others. The Saturday cultural night special event includes keynote addresses as well as Palestinian folkloric dance by the youth of Beir Zeit Society of Southern California, music by world famous Palestinian maestro and violinist Dr. Nabil Azzam, a Palestinian fashion show and readings of children's writings from refugee camps.
