Notes
The Community Service/Service Learning Program is aimed at giving Pinnacle students the opportunity to participate in the real world in a positive and beneficial way.

There are two aspects to the program. In the 8th grade, students participate in Service Learning projects. These are projects that integrate the Core Knowledge Curriculum with community service. Last year, students participated in a Voter Education Project, and registered over 160 new voters. This year, students are dealing with the issue of land usage at the school. The second part of the program is an after school Community Service Club. This club is student driven, meaning the students find service opportunities and present them to the club. Some projects that students have participated in are: cleaning senior citizen's yards, delivering holiday gift baskets to homebound senior citizens, volunteering for school functions (i.e. parent-info night), volunteering for local community celebrations (i.e. Federal Heights Day), recycling, organizing a blood drive, volunteering at a homeless shelter, etc.

The students in this program are extremely dedicated and make a real difference in the communities they are a part of. We have an on going invitation to any student that is interested: : "If you were a part of past projects or would like to be a part of future projects, come and join us at the next community service meeting!"

Please feel free to contact Mr. Abdelhamid with any questions about this program.
