845-752-4542A student group at Bard College which works on environmental/ecological issues on campus and in the surrounding community. We also bring speakers on such issues to Bard, and screen related films and documentaries. Some issues we are currently working on, or plan to work on:
-Getting organic and locally grown food in the cafeteria
-Stopping the Saint Lawrence cement plant in Hudson, NY.
-Shutting down the Indian Point nuclear reactors-Cutting down on the use of pesticides and harmful fertilizers on campus
-Investigating the environmental practices of companies with which the school has contracts
-Investigating the school's stock portfolio as it relates to the environment
We need as much help as we can get. This means not only direct help in working on these issues, but also advice on tactics and ways to work. We also want to communicate with the community surrounding Bard.This is a campus group. Geographical Scope: Local Added on 11-21-2002 Updated on 05-26-2004 |
