In 2006, a group called Democracy Unlimited in Humboldt County California did something revolutionary; they passed a law that limited the power of not just one corporation but all corporations in their county. Their campaign is part of a growing effort nationally to challenge corporate power locally, reinvigorate democracy and place human interests above corporate profit.
