Notes
Human Values for Transformative Action (HVTA) prompts individuals to act upon professed values such as justice and equality through their involvement in action-oriented programs that assess and address the largely unspoken realities of exclusion and injustice. We do this by unleashing, channeling, and showcasing the creative potential and problem-solving abilities of ordinary citizens—particularly youth—and we are informed and guided by people who feel left out and left behind.

The Community Heartbeats Program

The Community Heartbeats Program, HVTA’s first major undertaking, brings together representatives from marginalized groups and other members of the community to produce visual images that reflect experiences of exclusion and injustice. Creating such a canvass serves as the first step in the process of forging truly inclusive, just, and peaceful communities. Indeed, these types of exhibitions become sites for educating the public, stimulating inter-group dialogues, and prompting collective action.
