United StatesBeing the only law school in New Mexico, we work hard to advocate both progressive and libertarian causes in our state. Our Street Law program (in collaboration with the UNM National Lawyers Guild) brings basic information about the law to communities in need of legal help (such as homeless persons, prison populations, and immigrant communities). Street Law encompasses Employment Law, Immigration Law, Family and Divorce Law, 4th Amendment Search & Seizure Rights, and many other fields of law.
The ACLU also sponsors public forums and debates centered around civil liberties issues such as GLBT rights, reproductive rights, drug law reform, and abolition of the death penalty.
